Earth Day is a stark reminder that we are behind on achieving The Global Goals but, it’s also an opportunity to focus on the urgent action needed to protect our people and our planet and to come together to show our commitment to tackling climate action.
COVID-19 is the biggest emergency facing humanity, and we must focus our efforts on it but it is vital that in the response to and the recovery from the crisis, countries keep the Sustainable Development Goals and climate commitments in focus to hold on to past gains, and to move us towards a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient future.
The response to COVID-19 has shown that we’re capable of mass shifts to tackle a crisis head-on. We must apply the same scale and urgency in our response to climate change.
